Thanks to the contacts our tutors have nurtured and maintained throughout their careers, we at Helen’s Angels are able to offer access to some fantastic role models and mentors in the form of exclusive masterclasses.

These run on an ad hoc basis, but have so far included:

• Acting for TV workshop held by Alex Jacob, Director of Casualty, Four O’Clock Club and Dumping Ground. This workshop covered what to expect when on set (how directions are different to those on stage), working with camera angles and how to perform to camera (and not camera) and hitting your mark. He also directed a couple of scenes with our children.
• West End workshop featuring Sophie Linder-Lee who did a Q&A and performed songs from Mamma Mia and Wicked, providing tips from the professional circuit and what to expect on stage.
• Suzanne Shaw former popstar, Dancing on Ice winner and star of Emmerdale provided a variety of audition tips to our class including how to prepare for a role and handling feedback throughout your career.
• Special makeup class held by Emily Richardson, local makeup artist, who completed a Spooktacular workshop over Halloween with some of our children, showcasing gory and gruesome effects for stage and screen.
